StreamJockey — Android App

StreamJockey — internet radio, tuned for battery life

StreamJockey is a fast, free internet-radio player for Android, built around one idea: radio should play all night without eating your battery.

It is built to handle thousands of stations — it comes with a starter selection you make entirely your own: add, edit, reorder, import and export freely. It shows live track titles straight from the stream and re-colors the whole interface to match the genre of what you’re hearing — house turns it orange, jazz gold, classical a pale blue. No ads, no accounts, no tracking: everything stays on your phone.

Why it’s different

  • Battery first. Plays with the screen off through Android’s deepest sleep. No polling, no wake-ups — track titles arrive inside the audio stream itself.
  • Controls everywhere. Lock screen, notification shade, headset and Bluetooth buttons, Android Auto — with genre-colored station artwork.
  • Survives bad networks. A deep buffer rides out drops, and playback reconnects by itself the moment your connection returns.
  • Add any station. Paste a stream link — or just the station’s website, and StreamJockey detects the stream for you.
  • Your list, your rules. Favorites, genre browsing, drag-to-reorder editing, JSON export/import, sleep timer.
  • For tinkerers. Retry policy, buffer sizes, connect timeout and user agent are all adjustable — with great defaults so you never have to.
  • Plays everything. MP3, AAC, OGG, OPUS, FLAC and HLS streams.
