Privacy Policy — StreamJockey
The short version
StreamJockey collects nothing. There is no account, no cloud service, no analytics, no advertising and no telemetry. The app connects to the internet-radio streams you choose to play, and to the public sources listed below to find streams and station logos. Nothing about you is sent, and everything it stores stays on your device.
What the app stores, and where
All of the following is written to the app's private storage on your device and never leaves it.

Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
What the app sends, and to whom
StreamJockey makes network connections only for these purposes:
- Playing a station — the app connects to that station's stream server. Like any radio player or web browser, the stream operator can see your IP address. What a station does with its connection logs is governed by its own operator, not by this app.
- Adding a station — if you paste a link or a website, the app fetches that address to detect the audio stream, and may ask the public, community-run Radio Browser directory whether it knows stations for that site. Only the address or name you typed is sent — nothing about you.
- Station logos — to show a station's logo, the app asks Radio Browser about the station's stream address and name, and may open the station's own website (the address the stream announces, or the one Radio Browser lists) to download its icon. This runs when a station is added, when you tap Find or Refresh on a logo or Fetch missing logos, and once on the first launch for the stations the app comes with. Only station addresses and names are sent.
- Station directory (off until you turn it on in the menu) — when you browse it, the app sends the words you search for and the genre you pick to Radio Browser. Tapping play on a result connects to that station's stream for a preview.
- Checking stations — when you run Check stations, the app connects to each station's stream to see whether it still answers, and may ask Radio Browser for working replacements by station name.
Requests made by the app identify it as StreamJockey with its version number
(for stream playback, unless you change the user agent in Stream settings). As
with any internet connection, each server contacted can see your IP address. Radio Browser and the
stations' websites are run by third parties under their own privacy policies.
The developer operates no server and receives no data from the app. It contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK and no social login. It does not read your contacts, location, photos, camera, microphone, call log, SMS, or installed-app list, and it requests no permission that would allow it to.
Permissions the app requests, and why
INTERNET,ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE— to play the streams, and to notice when the network drops so playback can resume automatically.FOREGROUND_SERVICE,FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK,WAKE_LOCK— to keep the radio playing with the screen off, with the standard media notification showing what's on.POST_NOTIFICATIONS— for that media notification with its play/pause and station controls.
Stations, logos and trademarks
StreamJockey is a player: it hosts no audio and re-streams nothing. Each station is played directly from its broadcaster's own public stream. Station names and logos belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify the station; their appearance in the app does not imply any endorsement. The stations the app comes with are a starting point you can edit freely. Broadcasters who would like their station removed from that starting list can write to anducampu@gmail.com; it will be taken out in the next version.
Files you export
You can export your station list as a stations.json file through the system file
picker. That file is created where you choose to save it and is yours; the app keeps no copy and
sends it nowhere.
Children
StreamJockey is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app ever changes what is collected or sent, this page will be updated before that version ships, with the date at the top revised.
